dc.description | The research was carried out at the Martin Icaza Hospital, an institution in charge of offering medical services that improve the state of health and quality of life of the inhabitants of the Babahoyo canton through the development of competencies of their human talent in terms of service vocation. , teamwork and commitment to users; The objective of the work is to analyze how the sufficiency of the personnel, labor competencies, asset management and the empathy of the institution's personnel, cause that the attention to the users deteriorates and makes it impossible to access the health care services offered by the hospital. The methodology used in the case study is conformed by the type of descriptive and exploratory research, the inductive method was also applied because it helped the analysis of the main findings obtained, together with the survey technique aimed at administration personnel and patients who continuously attend the organization and, as an instrument, a questionnaire for data collection. The results showed that the institution does not have sufficient personnel in the Emergency Area to attend in a timely manner to the demand of patients, the scheduling of appointments is inadequate, where the person who attends the medical review is not attended due to absence of the health professional, in addition the administration of the fixed assets and other materials presents problems, because there is not an opportune number of beds to attend to all the patients. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | La investigación se realizó en el Hospital Martin Icaza, institución encargada de ofertar servicios médicos que permitan mejorar el estado de salud y calidad de vida de los habitantes del cantón Babahoyo a través del desarrollo de competencias de su talento humano en cuanto a la vocación de servicio, trabajo en equipo y compromiso para con los usuarios; el trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar como la suficiencia del personal, competencias laborales, administración de activos y la empatía del personal de la institución, provocan que la atención a los usuarios se deteriore e imposibilite el acceso integral a los servicios de atención médica que oferta el hospital. La metodología utilizada en el caso de estudio está conformada por el tipo de investigación descriptiva y exploratoria, también se aplicó el método inductivo debido a que ayudó al análisis de los principales hallazgos obtenidos, en conjunto de la técnica de encuesta dirigida al personal de administración y pacientes que asisten de forma continua a la organización y como instrumento un cuestionario para la recolección de datos. Los resultados demostraron que la institución no cuenta con suficiencia de personal en el Área de Emergencia para atender de forma oportuna a la demanda de pacientes, el agendamiento de citas es inadecuado, donde la persona que acude a la revisión médica no es atendida por la ausencia del profesional de salud, además la administración del activo fijo y demás materiales presenta problemas, porque no existe un número oportuno de camas para atender a todos los pacientes. | es_ES |
