| dc.description | Palenque is a canton that belongs to the Province of Los Ríos, has a population
of 24,320 inhabitants its people are very, hospitable, kind and dedicated workers
mainly to agriculture.
Its limits are the North with Mocache and the Province of Guayas, towards the South with the
canton Vinces, on the east side with the cantons of Vinces and Mocache, and on the west with the canton
Balzar
The former rural parish of Vinces has a cantonization date, an 02 was held
August 1990, this makes it one of the youngest cantons of the Province of Los
Rivers. Palenque is one of the cantons most productive references, has beautiful
