| dc.description | The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the relationship between growth delay and malnutrition in children aged 5 to 9 years at the "Dr. Lorenzo Ruffo Peña" Basic Educational Unit in Vinces, during the period from October 2024 to May 2025. Childhood malnutrition, especially in its early stages, is one of the key factors affecting the physical and cognitive development of children. The study will focus on determining how nutritional deficiencies impact children's growth, considering variables such as diet, food access, socioeconomic level, and family environment. A descriptive analysis will be carried out through anthropometric evaluation (weight and height) and a questionnaire on eating habits and family background. Additionally, the prevalence of malnutrition in the school's child population will be assessed by comparing growth measurements with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. This work aims to provide relevant data that will contribute to the improvement of health and nutrition programs aimed at the child population in the region, in order to reduce the impact of malnutrition on children's overall development. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La presente tesis tiene como objetivo principal analizar la relación entre el retardo de crecimiento y la desnutrición en niños de 5 a 9 años de la Unidad Educativa Básica "Dr. Lorenzo Ruffo Peña" en Vinces, durante el periodo de octubre 2024 a mayo 2025. La desnutrición infantil, especialmente en sus etapas tempranas, es uno de los factores clave que impacta el desarrollo físico y cognitivo de los niños. El estudio se enfocará en determinar cómo los déficits nutricionales afectan el crecimiento infantil, considerando variables como la dieta, el acceso a alimentos, el nivel socioeconómico y el entorno familiar. Para ello, se llevará a cabo un análisis descriptivo mediante la evaluación antropométrica (peso y talla) y un cuestionario sobre hábitos alimentarios y antecedentes familiares. Además, se evaluará la prevalencia de desnutrición en la población infantil de la escuela, comparando las mediciones de crecimiento con los estándares de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). Este trabajo pretende proporcionar datos relevantes que contribuyan a la mejora de programas de salud y nutrición dirigidos a la población infantil en la región, con el fin de reducir el impacto de la desnutrición en el desarrollo integral de los niños. | es_ES |
