The data was collected through surveys and taking anthropometric measurements. Results: The sample consisted of 56 adults, of which 55.36% belonged to the female gender and 44.64% to the male gender, in which the age range from 30 to 40 years prevailed, it was evidenced a high consumption of pastries, processed drinks and fast food, 39.29%, as a favorite cooking method chose frying, regarding the nutritional status it predominated type II obesity (41.07%) and although most practiced moderate exercise the frequency was insufficient. Not all eating habits showed a significant correlation at P level with overweight-obesity; the most relevant ones were the increase in consumption of processed beverages (p=0.16), fats (p=0.11) and fast food (p=0.10). Conclusions: The eating habits of adults in the Camilo Ponce-Babahoyo Parish were characterized by high consumption of processed beverages, fats and fast food which contributed to excessive weight gain, where obesity type II predominated.es_ES
