dc.descriptionThis research aims to explore the relationship between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and family dynamics in children aged 7 to 9 in the city of Babahoyo. Using a quantitative approach, various aspects of family functioning were analyzed through tools such as the Family Functionality Test (FF-SIL) and the APGAR Family Test, and correlated with the development of risk eating behaviors, assessed using the EAT-26 and SCOFF questionnaires. The sample consisted of 127 adolescents selected using the non-probabilistic snowball method. The results revealed a significant relationship between areas of family functioning, such as cohesion, communication, and affectivity, and dysfunctional eating behaviors, suggesting that a dysfunctional family environment could influence the development of eating-related issues in children with ASD. This research highlights the importance of considering the family context as a key factor in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders in children with autism.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEsta investigación tiene como objetivo explorar la relación entre el trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) y las dinámicas familiares en niños de 7 a 9 años de la ciudad de Babahoyo. A través de un enfoque cuantitativo, se analizaron diversos aspectos de la funcionalidad familiar utilizando herramientas como el Test de Funcionalidad Familiar (FF-SIL) y el APGAR Familiar, y se correlacionaron con el desarrollo de conductas alimentarias de riesgo, evaluadas con los cuestionarios EAT-26 y SCOFF. La muestra estuvo conformada por 127 adolescentes seleccionados mediante el método no probabilístico de bola de nieve. Los resultados revelaron una relación significativa entre las áreas de funcionalidad familiar, como la cohesión, la comunicación y la afectividad, con las conductas alimentarias disfuncionales, sugiriendo que un entorno familiar disfuncional podría influir en el desarrollo de problemas relacionados con la alimentación en los niños con TEA. Esta investigación resalta la importancia de considerar el contexto familiar como un factor clave en la prevención y tratamiento de los trastornos alimentarios en niños con autismo.es_ES
