dc.description | It is estimated that the number of new HIV infections in Latin America has increased by 9% from 2010 to 2023, with approximately 120,000 new infections in 2023. The HIV epidemic in the region disproportionately affects certain subpopulations, especially young adults in at-risk situations. The general objective of this research is to evaluate the relationship between nursing interventions and the prevention of AIDS complications in young adults at Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Hospital in Quevedo, during the period from October 2024 to May 2025. The methodology used was descriptive, with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental and cross-sectional design, utilizing the method of analysis and synthesis. Questionnaires were applied to 35 nursing staff members at Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Hospital. As a result, adherence monitoring to antiretroviral treatment was found to be the most frequently applied nursing intervention, with a frequency of 62.9%, highlighting its importance in preventing AIDS complications in young adults. Additionally, 60% of the nursing staff receive continuous training on a regular basis, while 34.3% do so only occasionally, indicating the need to strengthen training programs to optimize care. The results confirm that nursing interventions play a fundamental role in preventing AIDS complications in young adults, emphasizing the importance of treatment supervision, preventive education, and staff training as key areas for improvement. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
