The development of motor skills is essential to improve hand-eye coordination in students. This study highlights the importance of implementing educational programs that integrate specific physical activities, in order to enhance the comprehensive development of children, which will contribute to their academic and social success. Its objective was to determine how the development of motor skills influences the hand-eye coordination of second-year students at the EEB Tungurahua in Quevedo, during the year 2024. A correlational analysis was carried out using a sample of 71 students, where their motor skills and hand-eye coordination were assessed through standardized tests. The findings revealed a moderate positive correlation (r = 0.675, p = 0.002) between the development of motor skills and hand-eye coordination, indicating that as motor skills improve, an increase in coordination is also observed. This result is consistent with previous research suggesting that both skills are interdependent and influence each other. In addition, specific characteristics were identified in the students: those with good motor skills showed better coordination, while those with average and poor skills needed additional attention in motor development. Factors that influenced these skills included participation in physical activities and family support. Recommendations include the promotion of physical activity and teacher training to strengthen these skills in the classroom.es_ES
