dc.description | Diagnosis of cattle diseases is a challenge in rural areas of Babahoyo, where traditional methods are still widely used due to lack of access to technologies and specialized veterinary assistance. This study seeks to evaluate the applicability of current technologies in the diagnosis of cattle diseases in this context. The overall objective of the study is to describe the technologies used to diagnose cattle diseases and their applicability in Babahoyo. To evaluate the perception, availability and applicability of these tools, a quantitative methodology based on literature review and farmer surveys was used. The results show that while technology can improve disease detection, its use has been limited by economic barriers and lack of training. While more sophisticated solutions such as computer vision require additional implementation strategies, tools such as portable diagnostic kits proved to be more applicable in this context. It is concluded that the adoption of these technologies will depend on their economic availability and the level of knowledge of livestock producers. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El diagnostico de las enfermedades del ganado es todo un reto en las zonas rurales de Babahoyo, donde los métodos tradicionales siguen siendo ampliamente utilizados debido a la falta de acceso a tecnologías y asistencia veterinaria especializada. Este estudio busca evaluar la aplicabilidad de las tecnologías actuales en el diagnóstico de las enfermedades del ganado vacuno en este contexto. El objetivo general del estudio es describir las tecnologías utilizadas para diagnosticar enfermedades del ganado y su aplicabilidad en Babahoyo. Para evaluar la percepción, disponibilidad y aplicabilidad de estas herramientas se empleó una metodología cuantitativa basada en revisión bibliográfica y encuestas a los ganaderos. Los resultados muestran que, si bien la tecnología puede mejorar la detección de enfermedades, su uso se ha visto limitado por las barreras económicas y la falta de formación. Si bien soluciones más sofisticadas, como la visión por computadora requieren estrategias de implementación adicionales, herramientas como los kits de diagnóstico portátiles demostraron ser más aplicables en este contexto. Se concluye que la adopción de estas tecnologías dependerá de su disponibilidad económica y del nivel de conocimientos de los productores ganaderos. | es_ES |
