dc.descriptionMiopía has become very common in people of all ages, affecting their academic and work performance, among others. It is a refractive defect of the eye that makes distant objects that the person perceives through vision, look blurry. Sensitivity to light, or commonly known as photophobia, is an ocular discomfort, in which people do not tolerate the light emitted by the environment in which they are, ie excessive lighting and that makes it difficult for them to see, in many cases people with this anomaly may have pain, tearing and even almost always squinting. Patient of 19 years of age arrives to the optometric office in which she informs us that her vision has been deteriorated, she manifests difficulty in visualizing distant objects, in addition to various lights such as: sunlight, fluorescent lights and the public lighting system, generating difficulty in keeping her eyes open. The present study of this clinical case, is helpful because through this documentation, we can know how this affecting myopia and sensitivity to light influencing the lifestyle of the female patient of 19 years of age, both myopia and sensitivity to light can significantly limit the daily activities of the patient, however, it also affects their academic and sociable performance.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa miopía, en la actualidad se ha vuelto muy común en las personas de todas las edades, tanto así afectando su rendimiento académico, laboral, entre otros. Es un defecto refractivo del ojo que hace que los objetos lejanos que la persona percibe mediante la visión, se vean borrosos. La sensibilidad a la luz, o conocida comúnmente como fotofobia, es una molestia ocular, en la que las personas no toleran la luz que emite el ambiente en el que se encuentran, es decir iluminación excesiva y que se les dificulta para poder ver, en muchos casos las personas con dicha anomalía pueden presentar dolor, lagrimeo e incluso casi siempre entrecerrar los ojos. Paciente de 19 años de edad llega al consultorio optométrico en la cual nos da a conocer que, su visión ha sido deteriorada, manifiesta dificultad para visualizar objetos lejanos, además varias luces como: la luz solar, luces florecientes y el sistema de alumbrado público, generando difunta en mantener los ojos abiertos. El presente estudio de este caso clínico, es de ayuda ya que, mediante dicha documentación, podremos saber cómo está afectando la miopía y la sensibilidad a la luz influyendo en el estilo de vida del paciente femenino de 19 años de edad, tanto la miopía como la sensibilidad a la luz pueden limitar significativamente a las actividades cotidianas de la paciente, no obstante, también se ve afectado su rendimiento académico y sociable.es_ES
