In the present clinical case, an adaptation of toric contact lenses is addressed in a 19-year-old female patient in whom due to refractive error we have compound myopic astigmatism. She states that she is a student and athlete, she uses a correction in frame lenses with which she mentions that she presents blurred vision and headaches. When taking her visual acuity, it was confirmed that her usual refraction could not reach 20/20, thus resulting in a decrease in visual acuity. The adaptation of toric contact lenses was the best option for the patient since it was possible to considerably improve her visual acuity, thus eliminating the blurred vision and headaches that she mentioned previously, after which her comfort improved to be able to carry out her sports and recreational activities. In the process of this adaptation, several corneal parameters were taken into account, such as its refraction with its best visual acuity, selection of appropriate contact lenses, alignment test of the lens on the cornea for correct centering, patient comfort during use, finally instructions were provided on the use, care and hygiene of contact lenses to guarantee a good adaptation and avoid complications.es_ES
