| dc.description | This case report concerns an 8-year-old patient who was diagnosed with convergence insufficiency. Convergence insufficiency is an eye problem in which the eyes cannot work together when looking at a specific object. Convergence insufficiency is a visual disorder that occurs when the nerves responsible for controlling the eye muscles don't work properly, preventing the eyes from working together to lock onto a specific object. The objective of this clinical case is to investigate the causes of convergence insufficiency and its impact on near vision in a patient. Through this study, we seek to improve the patient's visual quality, eliminating the symptoms derived from this dysfunction. In the present study, the following optometric examinations were performed, such as visual acuity (VA), X-ray, fundus, proximal point of convergence (CPP), ocular motility, cover test, among others. Among all the results obtained in the study through diagnostic examinations of this clinical case, there was convergence insufficiency, the treatment applied will be a visual therapy that has 4 phases. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Este caso clínico se refiere a una paciente de 8 años a la que se le diagnosticó insuficiencia de convergencia. La insuficiencia de convergencia es un problema ocular en el que los ojos no pueden funcionar juntos cuando miran a un objeto en específico. La insuficiencia de convergencia es un trastorno visual que ocurre cuando los nervios responsables de controlar los músculos oculares no funcionan correctamente, lo que impide que los ojos trabajen en conjunto para fijarse en un objeto específico. El objetivo de este caso clínico es investigar las causas de la insuficiencia de convergencia y su impacto en la visión cercana en un paciente A través de este estudio, se busca mejorar la calidad visual del paciente, eliminando los síntomas derivados de esta disfunción. En el presente estudio se realizó los siguientes exámenes optométricos como la agudeza visual (AV), RX, fondo de ojo, punto próximo de convergencia (PPC), motilidad ocular, cover test entre otros. Entre todos los resultados obtenidos en el estudio mediante exámenes diagnósticos de este caso clínico, hubo insuficiencia de convergencia, el tratamiento aplicado será una terapia visual que cuenta con 4 fases. | es_ES |
