dc.description | Source code documentation is an essential aspect in software development, as it directly impacts the understandability, maintainability, and efficiency of teamwork. In this sense, JavaDoc has established itself as a key tool in the documentation of Java projects, allowing information about classes, methods and parameters to be structured. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as inconsistency in updating, developer resistance to its use, and lack of standardization in its application. The objective of this research is to determine the impact of the use of JavaDoc on the understandability of the source code in software projects developed during the year 2024. To do this, a mixed research methodology was used, which combined surveys, interviews and analysis of documented projects. and not documented with JavaDoc. The results obtained reveal that the implementation of JavaDoc significantly reduces the time needed to understand the code and improves the precision in the interpretation of functionalities, which translates into greater efficiency in software maintenance. Based on these findings, the adoption of good practices in documentation with JavaDoc is recommended, including the training of developers and the implementation of standards for its use. Likewise, the integration of JavaDoc in the software development training curriculum is suggested to improve the preparation of future professionals in the sector. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
