The present research study evaluated the effectiveness of physiotherapy exercises in shoulder bursitis in elderly patients treated at the Martín Icaza General Hospital in Babahoyo, during the period October 2024 - April 2025. The research focused on evaluating the impact of a therapeutic program in reducing pain and improving joint mobility. Initial results showed significant functional impairment in most patients. According to the VAS scale, 90% of participants reported severe pain and 10% moderate pain. The goniometric test showed that 90% had a reduced range of motion, indicating a notable functional limitation in the shoulder. These data established a baseline to assess progress after physiotherapy intervention. The treatment included Codman exercises, designed to improve shoulder mobility without generating stress on the joint. Pendular movements were implemented in different directions (forward, backward, in circles, laterally and diagonally), favoring joint lubrication, reducing stiffness and promoting the progressive recovery of the range of motion. At the conclusion of the therapeutic exercise program, a significant decrease in pain was observed according to the VAS, an improvement in joint amplitude in the goniometric test and a reduction in sensitivity according to the Dawbarn test. These findings confirmed the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic exercises in the rehabilitation of shoulder bursitis, validating the research hypothesis and highlighting the importance of therapy in this condition.es_ES
