dc.descriptionCognitive decline is a natural process associated with aging, in which significant changes occur, both in the ability to process information, remember and make decisions. This wear and tear can affect different cognitive areas, such as memory, attention, language and skills. As cognitive decline progresses, it can also have an impact on the emotional area of older people. Since, it can affect the mental abilities to manage their emotions, express their feelings and relate to society. The impact on the emotional area can be difficult for both the person experiencing cognitive impairment and their loved ones or people around them. It can lead to feelings of frustration, sadness, confusion, and even isolation. Thus, with the aforementioned, interest arises in identifying cognitive deterioration and how it affects the emotional area of older adults, so, first of all, the basic and higher cognitive processes were evaluated with the help of the mini mental test. In addition, we also worked with a questionnaire that included questions about the emotional area, so that the influence of emotions on the mental state of older adults is important. These measurement instruments managed to collect data that were applied to 80 older adults who attend the "Manuela Cañizares" association of retirees and pensioners. This study was carried out through descriptive research, in which it is concluded that cognitive deterioration not only affects the information processing capacity, but also It can also have an impact on the emotional area of older adults.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl deterioro cognitivo es un proceso natural asociado con el envejecimiento, en el que se producen cambios significativos, tanto en la capacidad de procesar información, recordar y tomar decisiones. Este desgaste puede afectar a diferentes áreas cognitivas, como la memoria, la atención, el lenguaje y las habilidades. A medida que el deterioro cognitivo avanza, también puede tener un impacto en el área emocional de las personas de la tercera edad. Dado que, puede afectar las capacidades mentales para manejar sus emociones, expresar sus sentimientos y relacionarse con la sociedad. El impacto en el área emocional puede ser difícil tanto para la persona que experimenta el deterioro cognitivo como para sus seres queridos o personas de su alrededor. Puede llevar a sentimientos de frustración, tristeza, confusión e incluso aislamiento. Es así, que con lo mencionado surge el interés por identificar el deterioro cognitivo y como este afecta en el área emocional de los adultos mayores, de modo que, en primer lugar se evaluó los procesos cognitivos básicos y superiores con la ayuda del test mini mental, además también se trabajó con un cuestionario donde se abarcó preguntas sobre el área emocional, de modo, que es importante la influencia de las emociones con el estado mental de los adultos mayores, estos instrumentos de medición lograron recolectar los datos que se aplicaron a 80 personas adultas mayores que asisten a la asociación de jubilados y pensionistas "Manuela Cañizares. Este estudio se lo realizó por medio de una investigación descriptiva, en el que se concluyó que el deterioro cognitivo no solo afecta la capacidad de procesamiento de la información, sino que también puede tener un impacto en el área emocional de las personas adultas mayores.es_ES
