dc.descriptionLos Ríos, Ecuador. The personal, social and educational factors that influence the interruption of the use of these methods are explored. The research was carried out through surveys applied to 84 adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age, revealing that 100% have used hormonal contraceptive methods, but none of them currently use them. The results indicate that the main cause of side effects, such as irregular bleeding, heavy cramping and mood swings, while the influence of friends and partners also plays a significant role. In addition, there is a correlation between a low level of schooling and abandonment of these methods. Improving sex education and access to reliable information is essential to reduce dropout, as well as addressing fears related to side effects and strengthening family support. dc.description.abstractEl estudio aborda la problemática de la deserción de métodos anticonceptivos hormonales en adolescentes del centro de salud Barreiro, del cantón Babahoyo, provincia de Los Ríos, Ecuador. Se exploran los factores personales, sociales y educativos que inciden en la interrupción del uso de estos métodos. La investigación se realizó mediante encuestas aplicadas a 84 adolescentes de entre 12 y 18 años, revelando que el 100% ha utilizado métodos anticonceptivos hormonales, pero actualmente ninguna los usa. Los resultados indican que la principal causa de deserción son los efectos secundarios, como el sangrado irregular, los cólicos fuertes y los cambios en el estado de ánimo, mientras que la influencia de amigos y pareja también juega un rol significativo. Además, se observa una correlación entre un bajo nivel de escolaridad y el abandono de estos métodos. Es fundamental mejorar la educación sexual y el acceso a información confiable para reducir la deserción, así como abordar los temores relacionados con los efectos secundarios y fortalecer el apoyo familiar. La investigación concluye que la deserción de los métodos anticonceptivos hormonales entre adolescentes está influenciada por factores personales, sociales y educativos, lo que resalta la necesidad de intervenciones integrales que aborden tanto el acceso como la educación en salud sexual y reproductiva.es_ES
