Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that affects women of childbearing age. It usually begins during adolescence, but symptoms can fluctuate over time, causing hormonal imbalances, irregular menstruation, excessive androgen levels, and ovarian cysts. Irregular menstruation, which is usually accompanied by lack of ovulation, can generate difficulties in conceiving. For the development of this research work, we aim to know the relationship between the prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome and metabolic morbidities in women. during the fertile age at the Martín Icaza Hospital, for which a mixed research design was used, that is, it is qualitative and quantitative, transversal when referring to a specific period of time, with a descriptive approach, analytical-synthetic and inductive methods- deductive, exploratory type, using the documentary modality for the collection of theoretical and field information for the application of surveys to a population of 127 patients, obtaining as results the patients saw their last menstrual cycle one and two months ago and another group six months, of which the majority presented symptoms such as acne, weight gain or body hair and another did not, in terms of family history, most of them have had relatives with PCOS or diabetes, there is also a group that does not present. said background and with a proposal titled: Strategies for the early detection and comprehensive management of polycystic ovary syndrome in women of childbearing age to reduce metabolic morbidities at the Martín Icaza Hospital, 2024.es_ES
