dc.descriptionChild malnutrition affects approximately 156 million children in the world, representing a multi-causal problem that affects the growth and development of minors. Objective: Determine the incidence of health promotion on malnutrition in children under 5 years of age attended at the Balsapamba Health Center, province of Bolívar, June-September 2024. Methodology: The design was non-experimental, basic, field type , descriptive and transversal, inductive-deductive method and quantitative modality. A survey directed at mothers and the questionnaire as an instrument was used. Data analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel and SPSS, using descriptive statistics. Results: The malnutrition rate in children under 5 years of age was 11,4 x 100,000 children, through the reporting of 20 cases; In the predisposing factors, age group of 1-3 years in 44.3%, maternal age of 25-29 years in 54.6%, primary educational level in 59.8%, they were housewives in 66 .1%, low socioeconomic level in 64.4% and had not received exclusive breastfeeding in 60.9%; and a relationship was found between health promotion deficiency and malnutrition in children under 5 years of age (p value= < 0.05). Conclusion: Health promotion affects malnutrition in children under 5 years of age at the Balsapamba Health Center.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa desnutrición infantil afecta aproximadamente a 156 millones de niños en el mundo, representa una problemática multicausal que afecta el crecimiento y el desarrollo de los menores. Objetivo: Determinar la incidencia de la promoción de salud en la desnutrición en niños menores de 5 años atendidos en el Centro de Salud Balsapamba, provincia de Bolívar, junio-septiembre 2024. Metodología: El diseño fue no experimental, de tipo básica, de campo, descriptiva y transversal, método inductivo-deductivo y modalidad cuantitativa. Se empleó una encuesta dirigida a madres de familia y el cuestionario como instrumento. El análisis de datos se realizó mediante el programa de Microsoft Excel y SPSS, empleando la estadística descriptiva. Resultados: La tasa de desnutrición en niños menores de 5 años fue de 11,4 x 100.000 niños, mediante el reporte de 20 casos; en los factores predisponentes, grupo etario de 1-3 años en el 44,3%, edad materna de 25-29 años en el 54,6%, nivel educativo primario en el 59,8%, eran amas de casa en el 66,1%, bajo nivel socioeconómico en el 64,4% y no habían recibido lactancia materna exclusiva en el 60,9%; y se encontró relación de deficiente promoción salud con la desnutrición en menores de 5 años (p valor= < 0,05). Conclusión: La promoción de salud incide en la desnutrición en niños menores de 5 años del Centro de Salud Balsapamba.es_ES
