Acute respiratory disease is one of the most common pathologies in childhood, of predominantly viral etiology. In most cases, they affect the upper respiratory tract. Objective: Determine the risk factors that affect acute respiratory diseases in infants under six months of age at the University Hospital of Guayaquil, May-August 2024. Methodology: The research was non-experimental, basic, field, descriptive, transversal and quantitative. Observation and survey were used as techniques, and the data collection sheet and questionnaire as instruments. Data analysis was carried out using the Microsoft Excel program. Result: The most frequent acute respiratory diseases were otitis media (29.4%), pneumonia (23.5%) and the common cold (17.6%); in the risk factors, age of 3 to 4 months (44.1%), lack of exclusive breastfeeding (54.4%), incomplete vaccination schedule (48.5%), presence of domestic animals (52. 9%), living with smokers (42.6%) and overcrowding (33.8%); and lack of knowledge of the subject, warning signs and preventive measures is evident (60.3%). Conclusion: Some infant and environmental factors associated with the development of acute respiratory disease are identified.es_ES
