The present study aimed to analyze the impact of the work environment on the development of health problems among professionals working in the operating room of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital, from May 2023 to August 2024, in order to develop strategies that improve ergonomic conditions and optimize the physical environment and overall well-being of the staff. The methodology employed included a quantitative approach using structured surveys administered to 30 nurses, with the purpose of collecting data on their experiences and perceptions in the workplace. The results revealed that a significant proportion of professionals face ergonomic issues, particularly related to patient mobilization and the use of equipment not ergonomically designed, contributing to musculoskeletal injuries. Additionally, a high level of stress and workload was identified, manifested in symptoms of emotional and physical exhaustion due to long shifts and frequent rotations without adequate breaks. Moreover, the physical environment of the operating room, characterized by insufficient or excessive lighting, inappropriate thermal conditions, and high noise levels, was found to negatively impact the well-being and health of nurses, increasing the risk of errors and distractions. These findings underscore the urgent need to improve working conditions and support for these essential professionals.es_ES
