This case focuses on the physical therapy intervention of a 23-year-old patient with synovial plica syndrome, a very rare condition that can cause pain, joint limitation, inflammation, and clicking when moving the joint. Synovial plica syndrome is caused by inflammation due to thickening of a synovial fold in the knee, which is usually caused by overuse, direct trauma, repetitive movements, or congenital abnormalities. The patient was evaluated before and after applying the physiotherapy treatment plan using physical tests, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) questionnaire. A treatment plan was designed and implemented for 8 weeks. This plan included the use of physical agents such as magnetotherapy, ultrasound, heat-cold, joint mobilization techniques, strengthening exercises, and stretching exercises. The exercises were designed with the aim of addressing the symptoms caused by synovial plica, strengthening the affected muscles, and reintegrating the patient into his or her sports and daily life activities. The patient was recommended to use orthoses for better stabilization of the knee. The treatment plan also focuses on the readaptation of the patient to their sports and daily life activities, incorporating exercises that simulate the physical activity that the patient practices, and techniques to carry out their daily activities. As a result, the patient returned to their activities without symptoms, with greater security and recovering their sports performance.es_ES
