Low back pain is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal conditions worldwide, affecting a wide variety of people, including athletes. Due to the pressure athletes face to quickly return to their optimal level of physical performance, low back pain in this group requires a specialized therapeutic approach. This study focuses on the physiotherapeutic approach of patients with lumbar injuries who attend the Federación Deportiva de Los Ríos in Babahoyo, during the period from April to August 2024. The treatment of low back pain in athletes must consider both the need to maintain physical fitness during the rehabilitation process and the importance of adapting physiotherapeutic techniques to the specific characteristics of low back pain. Various physiotherapy techniques are reviewed and analysed, including capacitive diathermy, TENS, massage, ultrasound, radar therapy and infrared, as well as new methodologies such as virtual reality, laser therapy, shock wave therapy and the use of exoskeletons. These techniques seek not only to relieve pain and improve functionality, but also to prevent the recurrence of low back pain. The study also highlights the relevance of postural hygiene and ergonomics, addressing the need to form interdisciplinary teams to analyse and improve the working conditions and physical activity of patients. The importance of correcting postural defects and promoting healthy habits to prevent new injuries is emphasised. The ultimate goal is to provide patients with an effective and sustainable recovery, allowing them to resume their sports activities without risk of relapse. This comprehensive approach to physiotherapy in the treatment of low back pain seeks not only temporary relief of symptoms, but also a lasting improvement in the quality of life of patients.es_ES
