Knee arthrosis is a degenerative disease that affects a greater number of older adults, causing pain and reduced mobility. Its global prevalence increases with the aging of the population and is one of the main causes of disability. In Ecuador, especially in Quito, more than 30% of people over 65 years of age suffer from this disease, with a significant increase in women. In Caluma, province of Bolívar, the situation is aggravated by the lack of professionals and resources, which worsens the quality of life of patients. The objective of this project is to evaluate the impact of physical therapy on the quality of life of older adults with knee osteoarthritis at the GAD Caluma Social Assistance Unit, between June and September 2024. Identify effective therapeutic techniques that reduce pain, increase functionality and provide a treatment model applicable in areas with limited resources. The research methodology is descriptive and comparative, using deductive methods and a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluate the effectiveness of the physiotherapy program. The target population will be 30 older adults from the Social Assistance Unit of the GAD, of which 15 will be selected to participate in the sample. The results of this research will not only benefit the patients of Caluma but will also serve as a guide for the implementation of physiotherapy programs in other similar regions.es_ES
