dc.description | Female surgical contraception, also known as tubal ligation, is a contraceptive method that consists of bilateral occlusion of the fallopian tubes. Objective: To establish the associated factors that intervene in the choice of surgical contraception for women of reproductive age treated in the obstetrics-gynecology service of the “Martín Icaza” General Hospital. Methodology: It is a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. There was the participation of 100 users of the gynecological-obstetrics service, of which after the inclusion and exclusion criteria a sample of 95 participants was established with ICD 10 (diagnosis O820, delivery by elective cesarean section and, (diagnosis O821, delivery by emergency cesarean section), who have been registered at the “Martín Icaza” hospital from November 2023 to April 2024. Results: among the socio-demographic factors we found that the age that prevailed with 33.78% was 33-38 years, the marital status was mostly with 41.05% those women in a de facto union, and who already had 3 children or more, inhabitants of urban areas. The dominant socio-economic factors were those with secondary education completed with 68.42%, which expands knowledge about the procedure. The participants affirm that they were not influenced (84.21%) in making the decision, and they are fully convinced of its effectiveness. 98.95%. | es_ES |
