dc.descriptionThe development of this investigative study was based on the objective, to identify the risk factors and their influence on the appearance of Pterygium in the Puerto Nuevo agricultural sector of the Vinces canton, period November 2023 - April 2024. The current study was developed based on a type of field research, based on descriptive, cross-sectional approaches, was also based on a quantitative design, the methodology process based on quantitative design. Regarding the results, it was evident that the risk factors with the highest incidence in the development of pterygium were prolonged exposure to the sun, dust, chemical agents related to fumigation, family history with the condition of pterygium, among other factors. In conclusion, the significant incidence of the development of pterygium in farmers has been determined, which determines a very relevant eye health problem in this community, thus affecting the visual quality and well-being of individuals.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl desarrollo de este estudio investigativo se basó en el objetivo, identificar los factores de riesgos y su influencia en la aparición del Pterigión en el sector agrícola puerto nuevo del cantón Vinces, periodo noviembre 2023 – abril 2024. El actual estudio se desarrolló en base a un tipo de investigación de campo, basada en los enfoques descriptivo, transversal, además se basó en un diseño cuantitativo, el proceso de metodología basada en el diseño cuantitativo. En cuanto a los resultados, se evidenciaron que los factores de riesgos con mayor incidencia en el desarrollo del pterigión fueron la exposición prolongada al sol, polvo, agentes químicos relacionados con la fumigación, antecedentes de familiares con la condición del pterigión, entre otros factores. En conclusión, se ha determinado la incidencia significativa que tiene el desarrollo del pterigión en los agricultores, por lo cual se determina una problemática de salud ocular muy relevante en esta comunidad, afectando así la calidad visual y el bienestar de los individuos.es_ES
