The present research project will provide details about ophthalmic lenses and self-esteem. Within the tools we can find ophthalmic lenses, a set of elements designed to fulfill specific functions, which have as main objective, to magnify and optimize vision. On the other hand, self-esteem is the own and self-critical vision that allows management in the ability to think, to make life decisions and to search for happiness in an effective way. Objective: To analyze the incidence of the use of ophthalmic lenses on self-esteem in children from six to twelve years of age in the San Cristóbal sector of the Montalvo canton. Materials and methods: This is a quantitative deductive descriptive cross-sectional study in a sample of 45 children from six to twelve years of age from the San Cristóbal sector. Results: With the detailed review of each of the surveys conducted during 2023-2024, where data was obtained from 45 surveys of children in the Montalvo sector. According to the data obtained from the survey conducted, it is determined that 60% have noticed some significant change in their child's self-esteem since they started using ophthalmic lenses while 40% have not. Conclusion: In conclusion, thanks to the lectures and programs there was a successful approval to know the ametropias and the importance of using ophthalmic lenses. Since in the study it was identified that most of the parents have noticed some significant change in their child's self-esteem since they started using ophthalmic lenses, there is also a small percentage of children mentioning excuses for not using the lenses when going out because they have low self-esteem and this causes an increase in ametropias.es_ES
