Intervención optométrica en paciente de sexo femenino de 12 años de edad con astigmatismo corneal.

| dc.description | The 12-year-old patient presented a decrease in visual acuity, both near and far, accompanied by symptoms such as headache, blurred and distorted vision, and burning photophobia, which affected her visual acuity and her ability to perform daily activities. After a thorough physical examination, the diagnosis of moderate corneal astigmatism was confirmed. The optometric treatment implemented focused on providing the patient with a solution that will improve her visual acuity and comfort. Corrective lenses were chosen to address corneal astigmatism, with a personalized prescription based on detailed evaluation of ocular refraction and corneal keratometry. In addition, Optometric controls were scheduled to evaluate the assessment of astigmatism and make adjustments as necessary. A significant improvement was observed in the patient's visual acuity with the use of corrective lenses. A reduction in the patient's symptoms was achieved, meaning that the treatment not only improved her visual acuity, but also relieved her symptoms. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La paciente de 12 años de edad presentaba una disminución en la agudeza visual, de cerca y como de lejos, acompañada de sintomatología como cefalea, visión borrosa y distorsionada, ardor fotofobia, que afectaban a su agudeza visual y su capacidad para realizar actividades diarias. Tras un examen físico exhaustivo, se confirmó el diagnóstico de astigmatismo corneal moderado. El tratamiento optométrico implementado se centró en proporcionar a la paciente una solución que mejorará su agudeza visual y su comodidad. Se optó por lentes correctivas para abordar el astigmatismo corneal, con una prescripción personalizada basada en la evaluación detallada de la refracción ocular y la queratometría corneal. Además, se programaron controles Optométricos para evaluar la evaluación del astigmatismo y realizar ajustes según fuera necesaria. Se observo una mejora significativa en la agudeza visual de la paciente con el uso de lentes correctivas. Se logro una disminución de la sintomatología que presentaba la paciente, el tratamiento no solo mejoro su agudeza visual, sino también alivio sus síntomas. | es_ES |
