Iron deficiency anemia is defined as a deficit in the production of erythrocytes due to low iron intake or blood loss, since its etiology is multifactorial. For this reason it is considered a global health problem; it is very common and closely related to malnutrition and diseases. The high frequency of Iron Deficiency Anemia in pregnant women could be reduced through prenatal control since from the first consultation we can identify the risk factors and make timely decisions to avoid premature birth due to iron deficiency anemia as is being discussed in this research topic. It is a descriptive study because we seek to describe the relationship between iron deficiency anemia and premature birth; transversal since it will be carried out in an established period of time; retrospective since we will study data from the 2023 period; and from the field because we are going to collect data from all the patients who had iron deficiency anemia and premature birth.es_ES
