dc.description | The family environment exerts a crucial influence on children's emotional development. From the moment of birth, the family is the main source of affection, security and social learning for children. It is during the stage up to 12 years of age when significant changes occur in their emotional and social development, so that understanding the type of care infants receive becomes fundamental to guarantee optimal growth.
The present research, of a descriptive and phenomenological nature, focuses on exploring how the family environment affects the emotional development of children between 7 and 10 years old, residents of Los Helechos, in the city of Milagro, province of Guayas. The main objective of this study is to determine the specific influence of the family environment on the emotional development of the children mentioned.
In order to carry out this research, both variables were contextualized through pertinent bibliographic references. In addition, data collection was carried out through the application of a survey focused on the family environment and emotional development, together with the use of projective tests. In this way, valuable and necessary information was obtained to test the hypotheses proposed.
The results obtained reveal a significant influence of the family environment on children's emotional development. The family attitudes test provides information on the children's perception of their parents, the relationship between family members, the child's self-image, as well as his or her emotions and defense mechanisms. The Koppitz human figure test reflects mental maturity and provides emotional indicators such as impulsivity, insecurity and anxiety, among others. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
