dc.description | The main objective of the research was considered to identify the impact of family dysfunction on academic performance in Eighth and Ninth grade students of the Juan E. Verdesoto Educational Unit. For which the development of this research was considered as a sample, a non-probabilistic random sample was used to obtain an exact number of 75 students and 52 parents as research subjects.
The instruments used were a survey applied to parents, the Family Functioning Test (FF-SIL) was also applied, it is an instrument to evaluate various criteria. The test consists of 14 items and 7 categories that define family functioning: Cohesion (items 1 and 8), Harmony (items 12 and 13), Communication (items 5 and 11), Permeability (items 7 and 12), Affectivity (items 4 and 14), Roles (items 3 and 9) and Adaptability (items 6 and 10).
As a result, we found that family dysfunction, when determining the scope of dysfunction and analyzing the impact on school performance, does not affect the academic performance of the eighth and ninth grade students of the Juan E. Verdesoto Educational Unit. | es_ES |
