Family dysfunctionality together with suicidal thoughts is part of a complex and alarming phenomenon that has been stigmatized by society, especially for the levels of incidence of family dysfunctionality in the suicidal thoughts of students of the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit of the city of Babahoyo. Type and design of research: For the project, a quantitative type of research with a descriptive method was used. The population consisted of a total of 240 students, while the sample was obtained through the calculation of simple random probability sampling and was 88 students of General Unified High School, which is divided into 51.14% equivalent to 45 people with female sex and 48.86% equivalent to 43 people of male sex, the results reveal that through the first psychometric instrument applied "Beck's Suicidal Ideation Scale", the female population was the one that most went through a moderate suicidal ideation with 48. 88%, taking into consideration their family relationship and the factors that are involved, consequently the second psychometric reagent "Family Functioning Questionnaire (FF-SIL)" estimated that the male population with 56.41% is part of a moderately functional family, which is relatively unaffected by an imbalance in suicidal thoughts that they may go through.es_ES
