dc.descriptionThe topic of the research is: "Coping Strategies for Depression in Adults Diagnosed with Diabetes in the "San José de Camarón" Parish of the Echeandía Canton." The main objective is: Determine the coping strategies for depression used by adults diagnosed with diabetes in the San José de Camarón parish of the Echeandía canton. Through cross-sectional qualitative descriptive exploratory research, the survey instrument and the coping techniques questionnaires and the Hamilton test for depression were used. Among the main findings: the highest concentration of patients diagnosed with diabetes is found in those who are between 50 and 59 years old. 24% stated that it is not very useful to express their emotions, 41.1% of those surveyed indicated that they have sought help in the past, but not currently to express their emotions. Most participants resort to conversations with friends and family as their primary problem-solving strategy. This group represents 41.9. 50.4% of the participants stated that they had sought help in the past but did not currently participate in this type of programs. 68% of the participants present some degree of depression. 31.8% show symptoms of mild depression. 28.7% of the participants have shown symptoms of moderate depression. 59.1% of patients diagnosed with depression use confrontation strategies. It is recommended to implement mental health care programs at all levels.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa investigación tiene como tema: "Estrategias de Afrontamiento ante la Depresión en Adultos con Diagnóstico de Diabetes en la Parroquia "San José de Camarón" del Cantón Echeandía". Se plantea como objetivo principal es: Determinar las estrategias de afrontamiento ante la depresión que emplean los adultos con diagnóstico de diabetes de la parroquia San José de Camarón del cantón Echeandía. A través de una investigación de tipo exploratoria descriptiva cualitativa de corte transversal, se utilizaron el instrumento de la encuesta y los cuestionarios de técnicas de afrontamiento y el test de Hamilton para la depresión. Entre los principales hallazgos: la mayor concentración de pacientes con diagnóstico de diabetes se encuentra en aquellos que tienen entre 50 a 59 años. Un 24% manifestó que es poco útil expresar sus emociones, el 41.1% de los encuestados indicó haber buscado ayuda en el pasado, pero no actualmente para expresar sus emociones. La mayoría de los participantes recurren a conversaciones con amigos y familiares como principal estrategia para resolver problemas. Este grupo representa el 41,9. El 50,4% de los participantes manifestaron haber buscado ayuda en el pasado pero que actualmente no participan en este tipo de programas. El 68% de los participantes presenta algún grado de depresión. El. 31,8% muestran síntomas de depresión leve. 28.7% de los participantes ha mostrado síntomas de depresión moderada. el 59,1% de los pacientes con diagnóstico de depresión utilizan las estrategias de confrontación. Se recomienda implementar programas de cuidado a la salud mental a todo nivel.es_ES
