dc.description | The present case study focuses on the physiotherapeutic intervention process applied to a 5-year-old girl with a diagnosis of spastic Infantile Cerebral Palsy (ICP), who attends the specialized education school "Un Nuevo Amanecer" (A New Dawn). The patient presents outstanding clinical manifestations including motor dysfunction with characteristics of spastic paraplegia, muscle rigidity, variations in muscle tone and sudden involuntary movements. Among the most relevant clinical findings are marked hypertonia in all four limbs, hyporeflexia in response to osteotendinous stimuli, contracture of the iliopsoas and hip adductor muscles, deformities in both feet (equinus and valgus) due to shortening of the hamstring muscles. The patient depends on support to remain in a sitting position and requires a standing frame or assistance from another person to achieve standing. In order to improve the patient's quality of life, short-, medium- and long-term goals have been established. These goals include reduction of muscle hypertonicity, reduction of muscle contractures, improvement of elasticity, inhibition of abnormal postural patterns, strengthening of trunk control, and facilitation of sitting, standing and walking with a walker. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
