| dc.description | The present clinical case deals with a 43-year-old male patient who underwent surgery to remove a grade III pterygium, who developed symptoms of photophobia and loss of visual acuity. After the respective optometric evaluation, the diagnosis of photophobia is confirmed, lenses with photochromic and blueblock protection are prescribed, these measures are focused on reducing the impact of the symptoms of photophobia, in addition, instructions on visual care and exposure to harmful elements such as dust and other irritants. Postoperative follow-up includes regular visits to evaluate your evolution and adaptation to the lenses. The patient shows improvement in the symptoms described. The optometrist professional must provide quality service focused on improving the well-being of their patients. The collaboration between the areas of ophthalmology and optometry provides comprehensive care for visual health problems. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente caso clínico trata sobre un paciente masculino de 43 años que fue sometido a una cirugía de extracción de pterigión grado III, el cual desarrollo síntomas de fotofobia y perdida de agudeza visual. Tras la respectiva evaluación optométrica se confirma diagnóstico de fotofobia, se prescriben lentes con protección fotocromática y blueblock, estas medidas están enfocadas en reducir el impacto de los síntomas de fotofobia, además se le brindo indicaciones sobre el cuidado visual y la exposición a elementos nocivos como el polvo y otros agentes irritantes. El seguimiento postoperatorio incluye visitas regulares para evaluar su evolución y adaptación a los lentes. El paciente manifiesta mejoría en los síntomas descritos. El profesional optómetra debe brindar un servicio de calidad enfocado en mejorar el bienestar de sus pacientes.
