dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio de caso, aborda el bajo rendimiento académico como una problemática educativa común en el área de Matemáticas, centrado en el tercer año de la Escuela de Educacion Básica Víctor Mercantes, en esta instancia se realiza un proceso de investigación y análisis de información para el posterior diseño de nuevas estrategias metodológicas, centrado en métodos de enseñanza. En función de ello se plantea como posibilidad mejorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes en el año antes mencionado. Este estudio trata de ver cuán factible es implementar una propuesta metodológica centrada en el estudiante con base en tres estrategias metodológicas (aprendizaje basado en problemas, aprendizaje basado en casos, esto en función de la metodología de la institución que está sustentada principalmente en la experimentación. Para ello este trabajo se sustentó primordialmente en una entrevista dirigida a los docentes de dicha institución. Las estrategias metodológicas son importantes dentro del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas, porque tienden a ser esenciales para el desarrollo intelectual de los niños, puesto que les ayuda a desarrollar el pensamiento lógico.es_ES
