dc.description | Sustainability comprises a dynamic and complex approach that seeks to achieve several objectives at the same time, to the extent that they encompass productive, ecological or environmental, social, cultural and economic aspects. The information was collected through the technique of analysis, synthesis and summary in order for the reader to know about the current situation in the evaluation of sustainability in cocoa farms (Theobroma cacao L) in Ecuador. Based on the above, it was determined that the current situation in the evaluation of sustainability in cocoa farms (Theobroma cacao L) in the producing provinces is composed of three dimensions or indicators: sociocultural sustainability, environmental sustainability and economic sustainability. The holistic analysis of different aspects of sustainability in the cocoa farms evaluated allows addressing their complexity and understanding the relevance of the results for the dimensions of sustainability analysis, reflecting the conditions in which cocoa farms are found. The analysis showed that the 13 cocoa farms evaluated in different production zones do not meet the sustainability indicators in Ecuador, due to the low index of social, economic and ecological indicators that exist in cocoa farms. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | La sustentabilidad comprende un enfoque dinámico y complejo que busca alcanzar varios objetivos al mismo tiempo, en la medida en que abarquen aspectos productivos, ecológicos o ambientales, sociales, culturales y económicos. La información fue recolectada mediante la técnica del análisis, síntesis y resumen con la finalidad de que el lector conozca sobre la actualidad en la evaluación de la sustentabilidad en las fincas cacaoteras (Theobroma cacao L) en el Ecuador. Por lo anteriormente detallado se determinó que la situación actual en la evaluación de la sustentabilidad en fincas cacaoteras (Theobroma cacao L), en las provincias productoras está compuesta por tres dimensiones o indicadores: sustentabilidad sociocultural; sustentabilidad ambiental y sostenibilidad económica. El análisis holístico de diferentes aspectos de la sustentabilidad en las fincas cacaoteras evaluadas permite abordar su complejidad y comprender la relevancia de los resultados para las dimensiones del análisis de la sustentabilidad, reflejando las condiciones en la que se encuentran las fincas cacaoteras.
