| dc.description | This study analyzes the changing directions of news and journalism in the profession of social communicators in the Quevedo canton of Los Rios province in the year 2022. Digitization and technology are transforming the media industry, which affects the way news is produced and consumed. In Quevedo, traditional media may have lost some of their audience to digital platforms. Social communicators must adapt to these changes and develop digital skills to reach their online audience. Additionally, journalistic ethics and social responsibility are important to maintain the audience's trust in their work. Finally, the emergence of new technologies and digital tools may change the way news is presented and consumed. Quevedo's social communicators must be informed about these new trends and be willing to incorporate them into their work if necessary. In the current context of digitization and political and social changes in the Quevedo canton of Los Rios province, the media industry and journalism are experiencing significant transformations. Social communicators in Quevedo must adapt to these new directions and develop digital skills to reach their audience online. Additionally, they must adhere to the ethical principles of the profession and be informed about new trends and technologies in the field of news and journalism.
