dc.description | A colostomy is a surgically created opening into the large intestine, through the abdominal wall. This results from normal bodily function to allow removal of intestinal contents after illness or injury. Colostomy surgery is performed due to different diaseases and problems. Some are done because of cancer while others are not. For example, a child may need a colostomy due to a birth defect. A colostomy may be needed for a short time (temporary), or for the rest of a person`s life (permanent), depending on the reason or type of problem. For the thousands of people who suffer from serious digestive diseases, a colostomy can be the beginning of a new and healthier life. The nutritional treatment of thois clinical case is based on carrying out a nutritional care process for a 46-years-old male patient with a medical diagnosis of colon cancer, through its objective, which is to improve the nutritional status of said patient through of a dietary treatment. Their nutritional assessment was evaluated to obtain a comprehensive nutritional diagnosis, a dietary treatment was designed and treatment follow-up was carried out to determine its effectiveness. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | La colostomía es una abertura creada quirúrgicamente en el intestino grueso, a través de la pared abdominal. Esto resulta de la función corporal normal para permitir la eliminación del contenido intestinal después de la enfermedad o lesión. La cirugía de colostomía se realiza a raíz de diferentes enfermedades y problemas. Algunas se realizan debido al cáncer mientras que otras no. Por ejemplo, un niño puede necesitar una colostomía debido a un defecto de nacimiento. Se puede necesitar una colostomía durante poco tiempo (temporal), o por el resto de la vida de una persona (permanente), dependiendo de la razón o tipo de problema. Para las miles de personas que padecen enfermedades digestivas graves, una colostomía puede ser el inicio de una vida nueva y mas sana. El tratamiento nutricional de este caso clínico se basa en realizar un proceso de atención nutricional a un paciente de sexo masculino de 46 años con colostomía y siendo su diagnóstico médico de Cáncer de colon, con el objetivo de mejorar el estado nutricional de dicho paciente por medio de un tratamiento dietético. Se evalúo su valoración nutricional para obtener un diagnóstico integral nutricional, se diseñó un tratamiento dietético y se realizó el seguimiento del tratamiento para determinar su efectividad. | es_ES |
