The objective of this case study is based on the nursing process of a six-year-old school patient with bacterial pneumonia, who attended the Iess General Hospital in the city of Babahoyo, due to hyperthermia of 40°C, chills, tachypnoea, productive greenish cough; Bacterial pneumonia is that infectious process in the lung caused by bacteria, among the most common pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, among others. In Ecuador, according to INEC in 2018, community-associated bacterial pneumonia in the pediatric population ranked fifth among the 10 leading causes of death. The fundamental infant mortality due to bacterial pneumonia worldwide fluctuates causing the death of 740,180 children under 14 years of age in 2019, which represents 14% of all deaths in children under 8 years of age worldwide and 22% of all deaths of children between 9 and 14 years of age. The application of a nursing process allows us to provide the necessary nursing care to correct functional patterns and obtain a favorable evolution, quickly accessing and rehabilitating the patient's health.es_ES
