dc.description | According to the World Health Organization (WHO) definition, a stroke is a rapidly progressive clinical syndrome caused by focal cerebral dysfunction of vasogenic origin lasting more than 24 hours. The consequences will depend on the location and size of the damage. Other names for this pathology include stroke, cerebrovascular accident or seizure. Worldwide, about 17 million people suffer a stroke each year. Cerebrovascular disease is a health problem because it is the second leading cause of mortality, the leading cause of disability, invalidity and dementia in adults, has a high in-hospital and out-of-hospital mortality, associated with high hospital costs and a decrease in the quality of life of patients who survive it. Therefore, the present clinical case is performed in order to apply the nursing care process in a 65-year-old male patient diagnosed with stroke at the Hospital General Martin Icaza using appropriate, individualized and humanized nursing care. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
