dc.description | Mastitis is defined as inflammation of the breast with the presence or absence of infection. Non-lactating mastitis is an infection or trauma produced in the woman's breast and that occurs in those who are not breastfeeding. Non-puerperal mastitis, which is usually associated with a subareolar abscess, is known as Zuska's disease. It is a benign disease, rare, with a prevalence of 1-2%6. Milk duct ectasia, which is part of the etiopathogenesis, occurs in 5-9% of non-lactating women. A break in these pathways is often caused and fluid leaks out into the breast tissue, causing inflammation to occur. Delay in diagnosis can lead to poor functionality or breast composition and consequences. The clinical similarities with locally advanced cancer and inflammatory breast carcinoma justify their exclusion. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
