dc.description.abstractLos medios de comunicación cumplen el objetivo de informar a la ciudadanía acerca de los últimos acontecimientos en el país y el resto del mundo; son el canal entre el suceso y el público, por lo cual, la forma en que afecta la información al ciudadano es impredecible, es decir, lo puede hacer de forma positiva o negativa. En los último dos años, la pandemia producto del virus SARS Covid – 19 ha afectado al planeta en diferentes ámbitos, especialmente en la salud, no sólo física, también metal, por lo cual, en el presente estudio de caso, se tiene como objetivo principal el analizar como inciden los medios periodísticos, específicamente los del cantón Valencia, en la provincia de Los Ríos, al estilo de vida de sus habitantes. A través de una investigación explotaría, mediante el uso de técnicas cuantitativas como la encuesta, se recolectó información y los puntos de vista que tienen las personas en base a la forma en que se han mantenido comunicados en el periodo que comprende tras la llegada del coronavirus al Ecuador. Se concluyó, que, a raíz de la cuarentena, se produjo una migración de los medios tradicionales a los digitales, a causa de su inmediatez, sin embargo, la TV y los canales impresos no quedaron en el olvido, pasaron a formar parte de una medida de comprobación donde se verificaba si lo emitido a través de portales de internet era real o falso.es_ES
