Hyperthyroidism is a characteristic disease of women, but it can also occur in men when they have iodine deficiency in the thyroid glands, the pathology does not have the proper primary information required by patients who suffer from it. The clinical case is based on the follow-up of a 37-year-old male patient with hyperthyroidism, with the general objective of applying the nutritional care process to avoid complications in the patient's health, and it was achieved through the nutritional assessment of the patient, by prescribing an adequate feeding plan and establishing compliance with the nutritional treatment. The study methodology is based on applying the nutritional care process, an approach based on the nutritional evaluation of the patient, through the application of anthropometric, clinical and biochemical parameters to determine the adequate intake of the patient with hyperthyroidism. Nutritional recommendations are proposed together with conclusions of the clinical case, basing the relevance of a nutritional approach together with medical treatments for the improvement of the patient. In conclusion, the results obtained are favorable, during the first- and second-month normal values were already reflected in their biochemical data, and their nutritional consultations showed good results, thus demonstrating the great importance of nutrition in patients with hyperthyroidism.es_ES
