The present clinical case is based on the nutritional management of a 29-year-old patient who entered the medical consultation with an uncomfortable condition, the corresponding assessment was carried out and he was diagnosed with hypercholesterolemia and grade II obesity, the doctor referred to the area of Nutrition and Dietetics to start nutritional therapy with emphasis on weight loss and improvement of blood cholesterol levels. As a general objective, the nutritional process has been taken into account based on the patient's health conditions to improve and prevent possible complications related to obesity and hypercholesterolemia. In addition, recent bibliographic information on obesity and hypercholesterolemia was collected, such as its etiology, pathophysiology, epidemiological data and nutritional therapy. Four methods of nutritional assessment were applied to diagnose the patient. The first step was anthropometry, capable of diagnosing patients with grade II obesity with a BMI of 36 kg/𝑚2 and very high cardiovascular risk; biochemically, the tests allowed obtaining details of the disease and working on it; at the clinical level, it provides a rapid diagnosis of certain physical changes in malnourished patients; biochemical tests, cholesterol levels above normal values; Lastly, he adopts a diet, a 24-hour reminder and a nutritional analysis that allows them to apply their dietary preferences to a plan to lose weight, improve cholesterol levels and successfully reach the established goals.es_ES
