dc.descriptionThe present clinical case deals with a 44-year-old male patient with cholesteatoma of the left ear who went to the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital accompanied by his wife for presenting vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, ear pain, headache, presenting retroauricular erythema located At the level of the mastoid region, the presence of purulent secretion with a bad smell is observed in the external auditory canal. The patient goes to the hospital because the intensity of the pain together with the vertigo and hearing loss does not allow him to carry out his work and personal activities on a daily basis, the main objective of the clinical case is to execute the nursing care process (PAE) through of the information obtained from the patient for the correct planning and execution of nursing interventions that allow improving functional patterns that are altered. Therefore, physical, blood chemistry, blood count, bacteriology, imaging and audiometry studies were carried out, which helped in the correct treatment of the patient, consisting of: the administration of the drug Paracetamol 1g diluted in 100 ml of sodium chloride at 0.9% every 8 hours and tramadol 100 mg / 2 ml intravenously to relieve pain, removal of serosanguineous fluid and purulent secretions together with asepsis of the external auditory canal, surgical removal by Mastoidectomy or modified radical Mastoidectomy together with postoperative care such as control of vital signs, monitor possible adverse effects of general anesthesia and administration of the prescribed medication.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente caso clínico trata de un paciente masculino de 44 años con colesteatoma del oído izquierdo que acude al Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro acompañado de su esposa por presentar vértigo, hipoacúsica, acufenos, dolor de oído, dolor de cabeza, presenta eritema retroauricular que se localiza a nivel de la región mastoidea, se observa la presencia de secreción purulenta de mal olor en el conducto auditivo externo. El paciente acude al hospital porque la intensidad del dolor en conjunto con el vértigo y la hipoacúsica no le permite realizar sus actividades laborales y personales de manera cotidiana, el principal objetivo de caso clínico es ejecuta el proceso de atención de enfermería (PAE) a través de la información obtenida del paciente para la correcta planificación y ejecución de las intervenciones de enfermería que permitan mejorar los patrones funcionas que se encuentran alterados. Por lo consiguiente, se realizaron estudios físicos, de Química sanguínea, hemograma, de bacteriología , de imagenología y audiometría que ayudaron a un correcto tratamiento en el paciente que consta: de la administración de medicamento Paracetamol 1g diluido en 100 ml de cloruro de sodio al 0.9% cada 8 horas y tramadol 100 mg / 2 ml por vía intravenosa para aliviar el dolor, extracción del líquido serosanguíneo y secreciones purulentas junto con asepsia del canal auditivo externo, extirpación quirúrgica mediante una Mastoidectomía o Mastoidectomía radical modificada junto con los cuidados postoperatorios como control de signos vitales, vigilar posibles efectos adversos de la anestesia general y administración de la medicación prescrita.es_ES
