In this bibliographical study we focus both on the most common diseases of dogs that are transmitted by ticks and on their taxonomic classification and characteristics. Ticks can transmit to dogs a number of pathological agents that cause diseases. From the moment that the ticks are feeding on the blood of the dogs, they allow the passage of said agents that alter the organism or health of the dogs. Ticks are divided into families: hard ticks, soft ticks, and Nuttalliellidae. The ticks that mainly attack the dog are the so-called hard ticks. Of them there are approximately 12 species. Diseases, such as Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, and Lyme Disease. Of which I mention the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of these diseases. In addition, tick species that are vectors of previously identified diseases were cited.es_ES
