This bibliographic review details the use of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) for feeding pigs in the growth-fattening stage. Feeding during this stage is of vital importance for pigs, due to the high demand for nutrients for milk production. The daily feed consumption of pigs fluctuates approximately 2.5 kg of dry matter per day, which is represented by 10 kg of green matter, a feed conversion of pigs is 3.5 kg of feed for each kilogram of weight won. The objective was to establish the benefits of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) in the feeding of pigs in the growth stage - fattening, the methodology of collecting information in databases with indexed magazines was taken out, information obtained from dspace of the universities in the world, academic google bibliographies and scientific articles; Taking into account that it is the exploratory technique, being adequate for the search for information, on the use of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) for feeding pigs in the growth and fattening stage. The use of the daily sweet potato ration together with the balanced feed constitutes an alternative in the feeding of pigs in the fattening stage due to the positive effect of weight gain and feed conversion, replacing 70% of the diet. The average composition of 100 g of sweet potato fresh matter has (70%) moisture, (26.1) total carbohydrates, (1.5) protein, (0.3) lipids, (32 mg), calcium, (39 mg) phosphorus, (0 .7 mg) iron, (3.9) digestible fibers, (111 kcal) energy making it a good source of energy.es_ES
