The inclusion of essential oil of oregano in the diet of broilers increases live weight, accumulated weight gain and efficiency in feed utilization, feed conversion, intestinal health, compared to antibiotic growth promoters, allowing it to show as an alternative for producers, just as it allows obtaining toxic-free food. In addition, it is observed that oregano has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that benefit production systems. In addition to assessing the apparent digestibility, adding carvacrol and thymol present in the essential oil of oregano to one of the diets, which works by modifying the composition of intestinal pathogens for the benefit of the host animal, stimulates biliary activity, prevents diarrhea and increases intestinal enzyme activity. For the development of this document, bibliographic information was collected from scientific articles, books, magazines, web pages. The information obtained was carried out through the technique of analysis, synthesis and summary with topics related to the use of oregano added to the diet of broilers.es_ES
