The main objective of this work is to develop the nursing care process in a pre-school patient who goes to the emergency area accompanied by his mother, who reports a clinical picture of ± 24 hours of evolution characterized by presenting 8 watery, foul-smelling stools , emesis in moderate quantity with the presence of gastric content and food remains, hyperthermia 39ºC, generalized pallor and pain in the epigastric area. Vital signs were immediately taken, showing a rise in temperature that, if not treated in time with antipyretics, could lead to seizures. A peripheral route is channeled for a hydration plan and the administration of analgesics, antibiotics, and antipyretics, and a fluid balance is performed to measure the patient's admissions and discharges. A sample is taken for cytology, coproparasitology, microscopy and blood count, in order to be sure that we are treating a case of rotavirus gastroenteritis. Once the patient is stabilized in the emergency area, he is referred to the pediatric area for follow-up and control during his hospitalization. The nursing care process is elaborated according to the functional patterns of Marjorie Gordon that are altered and that are compromising the patient's health status. This will be applied through the use of the NANDA (diagnoses), NIC (interventions) and NOC (outcomes) taxonomy with the purpose of fulfilling our objectives and goals proposed in this clinical case study.es_ES
