Community-acquired disease is an inflammation caused by a respiratory infection that affects the lungs specifically in the lung parenchyma and pulmonary alveoli, mostly the causative agents are bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae and respiratory viruses, in less prevalence caused by parasites and fungi, this infectious disease is one of the most frequent in the childhood stage and with more prevalence in the winter season. Causing as main symptoms; shortness of breath, high fever, tachypnea, chest pain, nasal flaring, fatigue, and cough with mucus. This nursing care process is focused on a 14-month-old infant diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia, hospitalized in the pediatric area of the Quevedo General Hospital, demonstrating that with medical treatment, adequate nursing care, and warm care and quality, prompt improvement of the patient is possible.es_ES
