Rotavirus infection is one of the leading causes of enteritis in children under 5 years of age in the world, defined by causing inflammation of the gastric mucosa that can lead to severe symptoms and even death. The following clinical case was focused on a 7-month-old pediatric patient who arrived at the emergency area with clinical symptoms of 5 days of evolution characterized by multiple diarrhea and continuous hyperthermia, a stool examination was performed, giving positive for rotavirus infection . Research was done on the causes and various factors that can lead to a rotavirus infection, as well as how to prevent this disease. The main objective of this clinical case was to apply the nursing care process to a young infant with rotavirus infection, the cephalocaudal assessment was carried out by Marjorie Gordon's functional patterns, to assess the patient, and thus be able to couple the care process nursing according to dysfunctional patterns. In order to develop an adequate personalized care plan according to the needs required during your hospital stay. Nursing care was used through the use of the taxonomy NANDA (diagnoses), NOC (results), NIC (interventions), thus complying with the objectives and goals set at the beginning of the case study.es_ES
